About
Pilates Source is Australia's first online directory dedicated to the Australian Pilates industry. We started Pilates Source because we could see that the industry needed something that connected Pilates customers, students, instructors, studio owners, equipment and clothing suppliers.
Our goal is to help you find every Pilates practicioner, product and service you need.
Pilates Source was founded by Melissa Turnock, who later recruited her husband, Alan Jones. The awesome Pilates Source website was designed, developed and assembled by the helpful, hairy men at Grox.com.au.
About Melissa
I'm a studio trained, Certificate IV and Uni of Technology Grad Cert qualified Pilates Instructor. With thirteen years as a client, six years teaching experience and three years of studio ownership under my belt, I am still mad about helping clients feel good and easing their pains.
I am actively involved in studio teaching, client focused workshops, mentoring our newbie trainees and developing programs for ongoing Instructor professional development. I am 99.9% through a Cert IV in Massage Therapy and I also enjoy my vegetable garden, my meditation time and cooking sweet treats.
As well as being the public face and brains of Pilates Source, I publish the popular Pilates Scene blog, where I share great online training resources, research, news and information for the Australian Pilates industry.
About Alan
I was a journalist, but I was lucky enough to be looking for a career change when the internet came along and in 1995 joined Microsoft to work on some early consumer websites. In 1997 I joined a little web startup that very few people had ever heard of, as the company's second employee in Australia. That little startup turned out to be Yahoo! and when I left in 2002 I was Product Director, South Asia, responsible for the company's product strategy in English-speaking Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Since then I've founded, co-founded and advised several successful web startups. You can find me blogging about communication and product strategy at Doing Words, selling music at Littoral Records and gifts for new parents at Milkooler.com.
